Original recipe yields 1 serving
2 cans (10 1/4 oz. each) cream of chicken or onion soup
Milk (one soup can full)
1 can (4 oz.) chopped green chilies (or jalapeno peppers if you love hot)
1-1 1/2 lb ground beef
1 dozen corn tortillas
Cooking oil
1 pkg (16 oz.) Kraft Shredded Cheese (I prefer sharp)
1 onion, chopped
2-3 cups shredded lettuce
1-2 tomatoes, chopped

Let's Make It

Mix 2 cans of soup in saucepan with 1 can of milk, and chilies. (If using jalapenos add a few at first until heated, test, and add more if needed) Heat over medium heat until heated through, stirring occasionally.

Meanwhile, brown ground beef and drain. Heat tortillas in oil on medium high heat until just limp and hot. (Do not fry to a crisp).

Then I have everyone make their own. This is how to assemble the way I like them:

#2 beef 2 to 3 Tbsp.

#3 sauce 3-4 Tbsp. (soup chili mixture)

#4 cheese sprinkled

#5 onion sprinkled

#6 lettuce sprinkled

#7 tomato sprinkled

Top with another tortilla. Repeat layering of #3 to #7 omitting beef this time. Salt and pepper to taste and enjoy.
