Original recipe yields 1 serving
1/2 cup onion, chopped
1 clove garlic, minced
4 whole cloves garlic
1 bay leaf
2 cups chicken broth
2 cups pumpkin
1/2 tsp salt
Juice of 1 lemon
1 cup cream
1 cup milk
2 cups cooked rice

In a saucepan bring the first five ingredients to a boil. Then simmer about 5 minutes. Strain and save liquid and return to pan.

Blend in pumpkin, salt, lemon juice, cream and milk. Heat but do not boil.

Add 2 cups or as much as you like of cooked rice. Serve with sour cream and chopped green onion stems.
