1 cup canned, whole peeled, tomatoes with juice, coarsely chopped

Heat olive oil, garlic, and red pepper flakes in a large sauce pan over medium heat. Sauté until garlic is lightly browned (about 1 minute).
Discard garlic and stir in sage. Add beans and tomatoes. Season with salt and pepper.
When mixture begins bubbling, add sausage, and turn heat down to medium-low. Cover pan and turn sausages occasionally. Simmer for about 20 minutes, or until sausages feel tender when pricked with a fork. Serve hot.
