Original recipe yields 1 serving
3/4 cup butter, softened
3/4 cup sugar
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
3 tablespoons Kahlúa
2 tablespoons instant coffee granules
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
4 (2-ounce) squares chocolate or vanilla candy coating, melted

Beat butter at medium speed with an electric mixer until creamy; gradually add sugar, beating well.

Combine flour, baking powder, and salt in a medium bowl; add to butter mixture, beating at low speed just until blended.

Stir together Kahlúa, coffee granules, and vanilla until coffee granules dissolve. Add Kahlu'a mixture to butter mixture, beating until blended.

Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface, and roll to 1/8-inch thickness. Cut dough with a floured 3-inch cookie cutter, and place 1 inch apart on lightly greased baking sheets.

Bake at 375 degrees F for 7 minutes or until cookies are lightly browned; remove to wire racks to cool completely. Dip half of each cookie into melted candy coating. Place on wax paper to dry.
