Cream butter & sugar until well blended. Mix in milk and vanilla. Stir in flour, cherries & pecans.
Form dough into 2 8" logs. Roll logs into coconut to coat outside. Wrap in waxed paper, chill overnight.
Prior to baking, bring to room temp for approx. 10 minutes. Cut into 1/4" slices and place on UNGREASED cookie sheet. Bake at 375°F until edges are golden brown, about 12 minutes.
