Original recipe yields 1 serving
2 Tbsp all-purpose flour
1 pound beef or pork stew meat, cut into 1 in. chunks
2 Tbsp cooking oil
2 1/4 cups peeled potatoes
1 1/2 cups carrots
1/2 cup chopped celery
1/2 cup chopped onions
2 tsp beef bouillon granules
1 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp dried basil, crushed
1/2 tsp dried thyme, crushed
2 1/2 cups vegetable juice

Flour meat. In a large skillet brown meat in hot oil. Drain off fat.

In the bottom of your crock-pot, layer potatoes, carrots, celery, and onion. Sprinkle with beef granules, garlic, basil, and thyme. Add your meat. Pour vegetable juice over meat.

Cover; cook on low setting for 7 to 8 hours or on high setting for 3 to 4 hours or until meat and vegetables are tender.
