Original recipe yields 1 serving
1 pkg refrigerated pie crust (2 crusts)
8 granny smith apples
1 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup cinnamon
2 Tbsp apple pie spice

Preheat oven to 350°F. Prebake the pie crust for 5-7 minutes (follow package instructions). Wash and core the apples. DO NOT PEEL. Cut the apples in half vertically after you core them. You want to cut the apples from the top horizontally. Your cuts will look like they are half leaves.

Now, mix the apples with the sugar, cinnamon, and apple pie spice. Then arrange the apples in the bottom crust by starting on the outside and working around the side until you have filled the crust completely. When you get the apples in the crust it will look like a flower. Take the top crust and use a cookie cutter to make your favorite shape to place on top of the apples and around the crust.

Bake for 30-45 minutes until golden and bubbly.
