In a large sauce pan, mix margarine, sugar, and milk, stir occasionally until boiling stage. Let boil for 1 minute. Remove from heat.
Add peanut butter and vanilla. Stir until peanut butter is melted. Add cereal, quick oats, coconut, or whatever you would like. Add chocolate chips, stir it up good.
Spread onto a wax paper prepared cookie sheet (large). Lay a top piece of wax paper down, and refrigerate for one hour. Cut into small squares.
