Quick Apple Turnovers

What You Need

Original recipe yields 1 serving
2 apples of your choice (Granny Smith and Rome work great!)
1/2 stick butter
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1 tsp cinnamon
1/4 cup Sun-maid raisins
1 can Pillsbury crescent rolls

1 egg for egg wash

Slice apples. Begin melting butter in pan. Add apples, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, and raisins to the pan. Allow to caramelize tossing occasionally. Remove from heat.

Prepare dough by separating along perforated triangles. Flour surface and rolling pin. Roll out triangles just enough to make enough room to fill each piece and close it. Fill each triangle with apple mixture. Fold over and press to seal. Go around edges with a fork making pie crust like ridges. Beat the egg in a separate bowl. Use a basting brush to spread the top of each turnover with the egg wash.

Place in shallow, sided baking dish (or separate little baking dishes for a dinner party). Bake on 325 degrees F for about 12 minutes or until golden brown. Let sit for about 5 minutes.
