Cover chicken breasts with water and cook over medium heat until thoroughly cooked. Remove from heat and allow to cool. Cut into bite-sized pieces.
Over medium heat, mix soup, green chilies, 1/4 cup of reserved cooking liquid and Cheez Whiz together until blended. Remove from heat. With tongs, dip tortillas one at a time into reserved cooking liquid.
Spray bottom and sides of 8x8" dish with non-stick cooking spray. Layer bottom of dish with tortillas to cover. Cover with half of the chicken pieces. Top with half of the soup mixture. Cover with tortillas and repeat, ending with tortillas. Sprinkle with shredded cheese.
Bake in 350 degrees F preheated oven for 20-30 minutes or until cheese is melted and bubbling along the edges. Remove from heat and allow to set for 10-15 minutes before cutting.
