Beat bananas till liquid (a blender works best) then add eggs and blend. Mix shortening and sugar in a separate bowl. Once smooth, pour bananas and egg mix in. Add flour, baking soda, and salt and mix. Once smooth add nuts and chocolate chips.
Grease two bread pans. Pour batter evenly into bread pans.
Bake at 250 degrees F for 1 1/2 to 2 hours until done. Once they are done turn pans over and let them cool.
