Double layer two pieces of foil for each packet. Cut desired amount of sausage and lay on foil. Scoop out half a can of potatoes for each foil packet. Add amount of onion, garlic powder, salt and pepper as desired. Add 2 Tbsp. of butter on top of potatoes, sausage and onion.
Fold each side of tin foil multiple times to create a secure packet.
Cook on campfire for about 45 minutes or on the grill for about 20 minutes.
