Bake pie shell in oven at 425 degrees F for 5 minutes. Then set oven to 325 degrees F.
Chop raisins and pecans. Drain pineapple well. Cream butter till soft. Gradually beat in sugar and vanilla till mixture is very light and fluffy. Mix in beaten eggs. Stir in heavy cream (mixture may appear curdled but does not affect baked product). Add raisins, pecans, and drained pineapple. Turn into pie shell.
Bake at 325 degrees F for 55 to 60 minutes. Cool thoroughly before cutting. Serve with whipped cream (optional).
