Baked Pork Chops and Apples

1 Tbsp butter
1/4 cup chopped onion
2 (1 inch thick) pork chops
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
2 cooking apples, peeled, cored and sliced
1/2 cup water
1 1/2 Tbsp brown sugar
1/4 tsp dry mustard

Melt butter in large skillet; add onion and saute until tender. Remove onion and set aside. Brown pork chops on both sides in butter; sprinkle with salt and pepper.

Arrange chops in a 13x9x2 inch baking dish. Cover with apple slices; sprinkle with onion. Combine remaining ingredients, and pour over chops.

Cover and bake at 375 degrees F for about 1 hour.
