Heat milk to just warm. Add the grape-nuts. Let stand in warm milk. Beat eggs with sugar and salt. Add grape-nut mixture.
Fill individual custard cups uniformly with mixture and place in flat casserole-style pan of water.
Bake in a moderate oven, 350 degrees F, until like custard, 40 minutes. Chill.
