Brown Beef Stew

Original recipe yields 1 serving
1 pkg lean stew meat
3 Tbsp olive oil
1 cup boiling water
l large carton low sodium beef broth
1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
2 Tbsp lemon juice
l clove garlic crushed
1 large onion chopped
2 bay leaves
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp sugar
1/4 tsp black pepper
1/4 tsp paprika
Dash of ground cloves
2 to 6 carrots depending on family size (I use two or three)
2 large potatoes (more for big family)

(I dredge my meat in flour.) Brown meat on all sides in olive oil.

Add: boiling water, broth, and all seasonings except carrots and potatoes. Bring to boil. Then simmer 2 hours. Gives you time to make other things.

Add chopped up carrots and potatoes. Let simmer for one half hour or longer stirring a lot.
