1 lb pumpkin (2 cups of fresh cooked pumpkin or 1 can)
2/3 cup water
3-1/3 cups all purpose flour
2 tsp baking soda
1-1/2 tsp salt (or 1 tsp. if preferred)
1/2 tsp baking powder
2 tsp pumpkin spice (or 1 tsp. cinnamon, and 1 tsp. cloves to taste - if using the pre-spiced can pumpkin then there is no need for the pumpkin spice)
2/3 cup coarsely chopped nuts (optional)
2/3 cup raisins (optional)

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease & flour 2 (9x5x3-in.) loaf pans. In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until fluffy. Stir in eggs, pumpkin, and water. Blend flour, baking soda, salt, baking powder, and pumpkin spice (cloves, and cinnamon). Then if you want, you can put the nuts and raisins in.
Pour into prepared pans.
Bake about 70 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean from center. Let cool for about 10-15 minutes and then take a butter knife around edges. Then flip then bread out of the pan. Cut & enjoy.
