Olive oil
1-2 cloves garlic
1 can (2 lb.) crushed tomatoes
1/2-1 tsp oregano
1 tsp basil
1 bay leaf
Salt
Pepper
1 tsp sugar
Wine (optional)

Pour olive oil into sauce pan. Slice garlic into slices and place into oil. Brown gently. Do not burn.

Add tomatoes, all herbs, spices and sugar. Add wine if wanted.

Cover and simmer 30 minutes. Remove and discard bay leaf. Pour over favorite pasta. Leftover gravy can be frozen.
