Savory Cheddar Cheese Biscuits

3 cups all purpose flour
3 Tbsp sugar
4 1/2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
1/2 cup butter cut into pieces (1 stick)
2 cups milk or light cream
1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 cup thinly sliced green onions

Preheat oven to 375°F. Butter cookie sheets. In large bowl combine flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Blend well. Using pastry blender or fork, cut in butter until mix is crumbly. Add milk. Stir until just moistened. Gently stir in cheese and onions.

Drop dough by tablespoonfuls onto buttered cookie sheets.

Bake for 15 to 20 min or until lightly golden brown. Serve warm.
