Gather all ingredients prior to making sandwich. Preheat electric stove top or cast-iron pans to save time. Heat on low to medium (adjust according to brown sandwich). You will need spatula to turn over sandwich.
Prepare bread by spreading butter or margarine on one side of each slice of bread. Place both buttered sides of bread together while adding other ingredients. Spread ketchup over one slice of bread. Sprinkle garlic and oregano over ketchup. Place the cheese over the ketchup, oregano and garlic. Pull apart the buttered slices of bread and place the bottom slice of bread on top so the buttered side is outside the sandwich.
Place sandwich onto griddle or pan to brown. Lift up corner of sandwich to see if it is brown. Flip over to brown 2nd side.
