1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Spray or lightly grease a muffin tin or baking pan.
2. In a bowl cream butter and sugar. In a separate bowl combine flour, cornmeal, salt and baking powder. Stir in eggs, milk and vegetable oil until well combined. Mix dry and wet ingredients. Pour batter into prepared pan.
3. Bake in preheated oven for 20 to 25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
