Mix flour, baking powder & salt; set aside. Combine milk & butter; scald. Beat eggs until thick & creamy. Gradually add sugars beating constantly. Beat in dry ingredients alternately with hot milk & vanilla, beginning & ending with dry ingredients.
Pour into two 8x8x2-inch pans lined with greased wax paper.
Bake in preheated 350 degrees F oven. Bake 30 min for 8x8-inch pan and 1 hour for tube cake. Cake is done when cake tester comes out clean.
