Mix sugar, syrup and water together and cook until mixture reaches 230 degrees F. Add peanuts and sir continuously, cooking until syrup mixtures reaches 290 degrees F.
Remove from fire and add baking soda, salt and butter. Stir until thoroughly mixed.
Pour onto a buttered cookie sheet. Spread as think as possible. When cooled, break into pieces.
