Preheat oven to 375°F. In a bowl beat butter & peanut butter with electric mixer on medium to high speed for 30 seconds. Add 1/2 cup flour, both sugars, egg, baking soda, baking powder & vanilla. Beat until combined, beat in remaining flour (3/4 cup). If necessary cover & chill dough until easy to handle.
Shape dough into 1 inch balls. Place balls on an ungreased baking sheet, flatten each ball with fork.
Bake for 7 to 10 minutes or until bottoms are lightly browned.
