1 pound dry calico bean mix (separate recipe)
1 tsp salt
1 clove garlic, minced
1 large onion, chopped
2 cups shredded carrots
2 cups chopped celery
1-2 smoked ham hocks

Put calico beans in large pot with 4 cups water and salt. Bring to a rolling boil. Remove from stove, pour into colander and rinse beans.

Put all ingredients in crock-pot. Add 4-5 cups water.

Cook for 12 hours or until all beans are tender. Add more water if needed.
