2 cups dried pinto beans
1 qt water
2 cups chicken stock
3 cloves garlic, minced
1/4 cup green pepper, chopped
1 Tbsp chili powder
1/4 tsp each: rosemary, celery seed, thyme, marjoram & sweet basil
1 lb ham, cubed
1 can (22 oz.) tomato juice
3 onions, chopped
3 Tbsp parsley, minced
2 Tbsp brown sugar
1 tsp each: salt, bay leaves, MSG & oregano
1 cup sherry

Cover beans with water & soak overnight.

Add remaining ingredients, except sherry. Bring to a slow boil and simmer for 3 hours or until beans are tender.

Add sherry. Can be topped with green onion.
