Stuffed and Buttered Green Peppers

6 large green peppers
1 lb ground beef
2 tsp salt
1/8 tsp black pepper
1/2 tsp ground sage
2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
2 cups cooked rice
1.5 cups tomatoes
1/2 cup buttered bread crumbs

Wash peppers. Cut a thin slice from the stem side and remove seeds. Sprinkle the inside of the peppers with salt.

Brown the meat, add the salt, pepper, sage, Worcestershire, rice, and tomatoes. Mix well. Stuff peppers with meat mixture and top with bread crumbs.

Place in a greased baking pan and bake in an unheated oven at 375 degrees F for 35 minutes.
