Original recipe yields 1 serving
2 lb ground beef
1 egg
1 pkg onion soup mix
2 Tbsp butter
1 medium onion
12 slices sourdough bread
6 slices Velveeta Cheese

Mix ground beef, egg, and onion soup in a medium mixing bowl. Form into 6 patties. Grill the patties over medium heat for 7-9 minutes on each side, or until they are done. While the burgers are cooking slice the onions.

After cooking burgers, heat a large skillet or griddle over med-high heat. Put a small amount of butter into the bottom of the pan. Sauté onions until they are transparent and tender. Remove onions and put a little more butter in the pan.

Place the bottom piece of bread for as many of the sandwiches you can fit easily into your skillet, topped with a burger, some of the sautéed onions and one slice of cheese. Cover with the other piece of bread. Cook until bread is toasted then flip and do the same for the other side.
