Chop onions and saute in half stick butter until soft and starting to caramelize.
Boil bag of noodles according to package directions, drain and pour into med sized casserole dish. Cube cheeses and mix evenly with noodles, dot with remaining butter. Pour sauteed onions over noodles evenly.
Cover and bake on 350°F for 1/2 hour -- check that all cheese is melted through. Remove cover and bake another 5 min.
