Original recipe yields 1 serving
Pastry:
8 oz Philadelphia Cream Cheese
1/2 cup butter
1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
Filling:
1/2 lb fresh mushrooms, minced
1 large onion, minced
3 Tbsp butter
1 tsp salt
1/4 tsp thyme
2 tsp flour
1/4 cup sour cream
Egg wash:
1 egg
1 Tbsp water

Preheat oven to 450 degrees F. Pastry: Mix together Philadelphia Cream Cheese, butter and 1 1/2 cups flour and chill in refrigerator.

Filling: In skillet saute mushrooms and onions in butter for approximately 5 minutes on low heat. Remove from heat and stir in salt, thyme, flour, sour cream and set aside.

Egg Wash: In small bowl whisk together egg and water, set aside. Get pastry brush ready to use.

Roll pastry dough out and cut into approximately 3" circles. As you cut the circles, return each one to the refrigerator to keep chilled. Take circles one at a time in the palm of your hand and place approximately 1 tsp. of filling onto dough circle; taking care not to overfill turnover or it will pop open during cooking). Wet edges of dough with water and fold over to form turnover. Lightly press edges of dough with fork to seal. Using pastry brush, lightly coat turnover with egg wash and place onto cold baking sheet.

Place cookie sheet onto center rack of oven and bake approximately 15 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from cookie sheet and serve hot or place on rack to cook and store in freezer until ready to serve. If frozen remove from freezer and warm in oven and serve.
