Original recipe yields 1 serving
1 lb butter
2 cups sugar
2 cups whole almonds, warmed in oven
2 tsp vanilla extract
1 pkg semi-sweet chocolate chips, divided
2 cups ground almonds, divided

Melt butter in pan, and add sugar. Cook over med heat until temp reaches 265°F. Wash down sides of pan with a pastry brush dipped in water if necessary. Add whole almonds which have been warmed in oven. Heat to 292°F stirring the whole time. Add vanilla.

Pour onto buttered cookie sheet and spread. While still warm, put 1/2 of chocolate chips on top and spread when they have melted. Sprinkle with 1/2 of the ground almonds.

When cool turn over and put remaining chips which have been melted over top, and sprinkle with remaining ground almonds. When cool break into pieces...ENJOY!!!
