1/2 cup shortening
1 1/2 cups sugar
2 eggs
2 1/2 cups flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
3/4 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
1/2-3/4 cup milk
1 1/4 tsp vanilla
3 medium ripe bananas, mashed

Preheat oven 350°F. Cream shortening & sugar together until fluffy, beat in eggs. Sift together flour, baking powder & baking soda, and salt. Stir in sugar mixture alternately with milk and vanilla. Add mashed bananas.

Grease and lightly flour loaf pan. Pour batter into loaf pan.

Bake 45-50 minutes, use tooth pick to check to see if bread is done.
