2 tsp baking powder
2 Tbsp sugar
1 tsp salt
2 Tbsp shortening
3/4 cup warm water
Toppings
Powdered sugar
Jam or honey

Mix all together -- dough will be sticky. Let rest 30 minutes.

Roll out like pie crust then cut into pieces. Fry in oil at 350°F until golden and puffed.

Drain on paper towel and then sprinkle with powdered sugar. Pull open and add jam or honey.
