Stir boiling water into the Jell-O until dissolved. Drain the fruit, reserving the juice. Add enough water to the juice to make 1 cup. Stir the reserved juice into the Jell-O mixture and refrigerate 1 hour and 15 minutes or until slightly thickened.
Whisk the Cool Whip into the Jell-O mixture until smooth. Refrigerate another 10 minutes.
After the 10 minutes, add in the fruit and marshmallows. Refrigerate 3 hours or until firm.
