In a large bowl mix pickle juice, sugar, and Tabasco. Stir well so that you dissolve as much sugar as possible. Add 1/2 of the drained pickles, onion, garlic, mustard seed, red pepper, and bay leaves. Repeat. Stir and mix as much as possible.
Cover and place in the fridge for 3 days, stirring once or twice a day. If you need to add more pickle juice to cover the top of the pickles, do so.
