Original recipe yields 1 serving
2 cups sugar
1/2 cup Karo Light Corn Syrup
1/2 cup hot water
Coloring
Pinch of salt
1/2 teaspoon oil flavoring

Let's Make It

Stir sugar, corn syrup, hot water, coloring and pinch of salt well. Put on to cook in heavy kettle - do not stir. Cook to hard crack stage (300-310 degrees F. on candy thermometer).

Take off stove. Add 1/2 teaspoon oil flavoring. DO NOT STIR - BUT SHAKE PAN until flavor is mixed.

Pour into shallow 8x8 buttered metal pan without spoon. Cut into shapes, and keep cutting until forms shape. When hardened, turn out onto wax paper & break apart (from back side using knife handle tapping works best for me).
