Original recipe yields 1 serving
1 lb Italian sausage (Jimmy Dean)
1 small onion or shallot
1 container (48 oz.) Swanson chicken broth
1 tsp minced garlic or 2 cloves minced garlic
1/2 bag potatoes or 3 large Yukon gold or Russet potatoes, sliced in 1/4" rounds
1/4 cup Oscar Mayer Real Bacon Bits
cups 1 to 2 roughly chopped kale
1 cup Land O Lakes fat free half-and-half

Brown sausage and onions.

Add broth, garlic and potatoes. Bring to boil then reduce to medium for 15 minutes.

Add bacon bits and continue cooking 5 minutes. Add kale and half-and-half and heat through (less than 5 minutes). Serve with fresh, hot bread!
