Fresh green beans taste even more delicious when you dress them up in Sicilian style, with pasta sauce, Parmesan and pine nuts.
What You Need
Original recipe yields 4 servings
3/4 lb. fresh green beans
1 Tbsp. olive oil
1 cup sliced Spanish onions
1 cup CLASSICO Tomato and Basil Pasta Sauce
1/4 cup POLLY-O Shredded Parmesan Cheese
1/4 cup pine nuts

Let's Make It
Trim and discard ends from beans. Add beans to boiling water; cook until crisp-tender. Drain; set aside.
Heat oil in large skillet on medium heat. Add onions; cook 3 min. or until golden brown, stirring frequently. Add beans and pasta sauce; mix lightly. Cook until heated through, stirring occasionally.
Sprinkle with cheese and pine nuts.
Add chopped cooked potatoes for a meatless entree.
Substitute red or other mild yellow onions for the Spanish onions and 2 cups frozen green beans, thawed, for the fresh green beans. Add to the cooked onions along with the pasta sauce.
