Pasta, Perfect Mealtime Partner
Today, pasta is available in any number of shapes, sizes, colors, and forms. Most purchased pasta is dry, but refrigerated (fresh) and frozen pasta are also popular. For fresh and frozen pasta, look for even coloring, no dry spots, and properly formed shapes (no spillage of filled pastas). For dry pasta look for few broken pieces and even coloring. Fresh and frozen pasta should be kept tightly sealed and will carry a "best buy" date on the package. Dry pasta should be kept in a tightly covered container and is good for up to 1 year.
