Beat butter, sugar, eggs and vanilla in large bowl with electric mixer on medium speed until light and fluffy. Mix in flour and baking soda. Stir in 3 cups cereal. Drop dough by heaping teaspoonfuls, 2 inches apart, onto ungreased cookie sheets.
Bake at 350°F for 8 to 10 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from cookie sheets. Cool on wire rack.
Place chocolate in heavy saucepan on very low heat; stir constantly until just melted. Dip 1/2 of each cookie into melted chocolate; immediately sprinkle with additional cereal for paws. Place on wax paper-lined tray. Refrigerate until chocolate is firm. Store in tightly covered container.
