Reserve 1/2 cup thickened gelatin. Fold fruit pieces into remaining thickened gelatin; spoon into 3-cup mold. Refrigerate until almost set.
Thoroughly combine reserved gelatin and prepared whipped topping. Spoon over clear layer; refrigerate until firm.
Unmold to serve.
