A frozen blend of brewed strong coffee, sugar and vanilla is broken into pieces with a fork and served in dessert dishes for a frosty Italian dessert.
What You Need
Original recipe yields 4 servings
2 cups hot freshly brewed strong MAXWELL HOUSE Coffee, any variety
1/2 cup sugar
2 tsp. imitation vanilla

Let's Make It
Add coffee to sugar in small bowl; stir until sugar is dissolved. Stir in vanilla. Pour into 8-inch square pan.
Freeze 1-1/2 hours or until almost firm. Break into small pieces with fork. Return to freezer; freeze 3 hours or until firm.
Break into small pieces with fork just before serving; spoon into 4 chilled dessert glasses. Garnish as desired.
Mochaccino Granita Di Caffe
Prepare as directed, decreasing sugar to 1/4 cup. Stir 2/3 cup softened vanilla ice cream and 2 Tbsp. chocolate syrup into coffee mixture before freezing. To double the chocolate flavor, use chocolate ice cream.
Granita Di Caffe Latte
Prepare as directed, increasing sugar to 3/4 cup and stirring 1 cup milk into the coffee mixture before freezing.
For a sweeter granita, increase sugar to 1 cup.
