Authentic snowmen are fun to make but watery and not safe to eat. For nibbling purposes, try these yummy PHILADELPHIA Snowmen Cookies instead.
What You Need
Original recipe yields 22 servings
1 pkg. (8 oz.) PHILADELPHIA Cream Cheese, softened
1 cup powdered sugar
3/4 cup (1-1/2 sticks) butter or margarine
1/2 tsp. vanilla
2 cups flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
suggested decorations, such as decorating gels, colored sprinkles, nonpareils and miniature peanut butter cups (optional)

Preheat oven to 325°F. Beat cream cheese, sugar, butter and vanilla with electric mixer on medium speed until well blended. Add flour and baking soda; mix well.
Shape dough into equal number of 1/2-inch and 1-inch diameter balls. (You should have about 44 of each size ball.) Using 1 small and 1 large ball for each snowman, place balls, slightly overlapping, on ungreased baking sheet. Flatten to 1/4-inch thickness with bottom of glass dipped in additional flour. Repeat with remaining dough.
Bake 19 to 21 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool on wire rack. Sprinkle each snowman with sifted powdered sugar, if desired.
Place cookie dough on parchment-covered baking sheets to prevent cookies from sticking to pans and to help keep baking sheets clean between batches.
A serving of these cookies along with a glass of low-fat milk is sure to be a hit as an after school snack for your kids.
Decorate with decorating gels, colored sprinkles and nonpareils to resemble snowmen. Cut peanut butter cups in half. Place 1 candy half on top of each snowman for hat.
How to Soften Cream Cheese
Place completely unwrapped package of cream cheese on microwavable plate. Microwave on HIGH 10 to 15 seconds or until slightly softened.
