Microwave unsweetened chocolate in microwavable bowl on HIGH 2 minutes until almost melted. Stir until chocolate is completely melted; set aside. Mix flour, baking powder and salt in medium bowl; set aside.
Beat butter and sugar in large bowl with electric mixer on medium speed until light and fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla; beat well. Stir in melted chocolate. Gradually add flour mixture, mixing until well blended after each addition. Stir in chocolate chunks and walnuts. Drop by heaping tablespoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets.
Bake at 350°F for 11 to 12 minutes or until cookies feel set to the touch. Cool on cookie sheets 1 minute. Remove to wire racks; cool completely.
