Preheat oven to 350°F. Toss peaches with apples in large bowl. Mix sugar and cornstarch. Add to fruit mixture; toss to coat. Spoon into lightly greased 9-inch square baking pan.
Mix wafer crumbs, walnuts and butter; sprinkle over fruit mixture.
Bake 30 min. or until topping is browned and fruit is hot and bubbly. Cool slightly.
Apple varieties suitable for baking include Granny Smith, Golden Delicious, Cortland and Jonathan.
