Canned peach slices and chopped apples are baked under a crumbly topping of crushed vanilla wafers and walnuts for a peachy twist on apple crisp.

Original recipe yields 9 servings
2 cans (15 oz. each) sliced peaches in extra light syrup, drained
3 medium baking apple s, chopped (about 3 cups)
1/2 cup sugar
2 tsp. cornstarch
40 vanilla wafers, coarsely crushed (about 1-1/2 cups crumbs)
3/4 cup PLANTERS Walnut Pieces
3 Tbsp. butter or margarine, melted

Preheat oven to 350°F. Toss peaches with apples in large bowl. Mix sugar and cornstarch. Add to fruit mixture; toss to coat. Spoon into lightly greased 9-inch square baking pan.

Mix wafer crumbs, walnuts and butter; sprinkle over fruit mixture.

Bake 30 min. or until topping is browned and fruit is hot and bubbly. Cool slightly.
