Beat margarine or butter, sugar and vanilla in bowl with mixer at medium speed until creamy, about 3 minutes.
Blend in oats and flour.
Spread half of the dough on bottom of lightly greased 9x9x2-inch baking pan. Bake at 350°F for 15 minutes. Remove from oven; spread jam over the surface. Crumble remaining dough over jam, pressing lightly. Bake 20 to 25 minutes more or until ligh tly browned.
Cut into bars while warm; cool completely in pan on wire rack.
