Blend flour, cereal, baking powder, brown sugar and margarine or butter in bowl with mixer. Mixture will be crumbly. Reserve 1 1/2 cups for topping.
Press remaining cereal mixture evenly on bottom of greased 9 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan. Spread with jam. Crumble reserved cereal mixture over jam layer.
Bake at 350°F for 30 to 35 minutes or until lightly browned.
Cool completely. Cut into squares.
