Preparing Thanksgiving dinner might sound intimidating, but it won't be hard if you use this easy turkey recipe.

Original recipe yields 6 servings
1-1/2 cups water
1/4 cup margarine, cut up
1 pkg. (6 oz.) STOVE TOP Stuffing Mix
1 whole turkey, thawed if frozen

Let's Make It

Bring water and margarine to boil in medium saucepan. Add stuffing mix; stir just until moistened.

Stuff turkey lightly with prepared stuffing.

Bake as directed on turkey wrapper. Meanwhile, place any remaining stuffing in baking dish; refrigerate until ready to add to oven for the last 30 min. of the turkey baking time.

Tip 1
Keeping it Safe
Do not stuff the turkey until you are ready to put it into the oven to roast it. Stuffing is done when meat thermometer inserted in center of stuffing reaches 165°F. Bake any extra stuffing in separate covered baking dish in oven with turkey for the last 30 min. of the turkey baking time.

Cooking Know-How
Use 1 pkg. (6 oz.) stuffing for a bird up to 8 lb., 2 pkg. (6 oz. each) stuffing for an 8- to 12-lb. bird, and 3 pkg. (6 oz. each) stuffing for a 12- to 20-lb. bird.

Special Extra
Add one or more of the following ingredients to the prepared stuffing before spooning into turkey: 1/2 cup of your favorite PLANTERS Nuts; fresh or dried fruit, such as 1 chopped apple or 1/2 cup dried cranberries; 6 oz. pork sausage, cooked and drained; 1/2 lb. chopped cooked chicken; 1 cup chopped bell peppers, cooked; 1 can (4 oz.) sliced mushrooms, drained; 1/2 cup KRAFT Shredded Cheddar Cheese.

Add any of the following to the prepared stuffing before spooning into the turkey: 1 apple or pear, chopped; 1 can (8-1/2 oz.) peach slices, drained and chopped; 1/2 cup chopped mixed dried fruit, such as apples, dates, raisins, apricots and prunes.

Meat Additions
Add any of the following to the prepared stuffing before spooning into the turkey: 6 oz. pork sausage, cooked and drained; 1/2 lb. cooked and drained ground beef, turkey, chicken or pork; 5 slices cooked and crumbled OSCAR MAYER Bacon; 1/2 lb. turkey giblets, cooked, drained and chopped; 1 can (8 oz.) oysters, drained.

Vegetable Additions
Add any of the following to the prepared stuffing before spooning into the turkey: 1 cup chopped bell peppers, cooked; 1/2 cup thin zucchini slices; 1/2 cup shredded carrots; 1 tomato, seeded and chopped, and 2 chopped green onions; 1 can (4 oz.) sliced mushrooms, drained.

Cheese Additions
Add 1/2 cup KRAFT Shredded Cheddar Cheese or 1/3 cup KRAFT Grated Parmesan Cheese to the prepared stuffing before spooning into the turkey.
