1 pkg. (7-1/4 oz.) KRAFT Macaroni & Cheese Dinner
1 lb. lean ground beef
3/4 cup milk
1/4 cup butter, cut up
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
1/2 tsp. onion powder
1/8 tsp. ground black pepper

Bring 1-1/2 qt. (6 cups) water to boil in large saucepan. Stir in Macaroni; cook 7 to 10 min. or until tender, stirring occasionally.
Meanwhile, brown meat in large skillet on medium heat; drain. Add Cheese Sauce Mix and all remaining ingredients except macaroni; mix well. Simmer on medium-low heat 5 min. or butter is completely melted and meat mixture is heated through, stirring occasionally.
Drain macaroni. Add to ingredients in skillet; mix lightly.
Serve this main dish with a mixed green salad for a quick-and-tasty weekday meal.
Substitute 1 lb. boneless skinless chicken breasts, cut into chunks, for the ground beef. Cook Macaroni as directed. Meanwhile, cook and stir chicken in 1 Tbsp. oil in large skillet 8 to 10 min. or until chicken is done. Add Cheese Sauce Mix and all remaining ingredients except macaroni; mix well. Continue as directed.
