1 lb. Italian sausage
1 lb. VELVEETA®, cut up
1 tsp. garlic powder
1 tsp. dried oregano leaves
1 loaf cocktail rye bread

Brown ground beef and Italian sausage in hot skillet; do not drain the fat. Add all remaining ingredients except bread. Cook until VELVEETA is melted, stirring frequently. Spoon onto bread slices. Place on cookie sheet; freeze. Place in zipper style plastic bags; keep frozen until ready to bake. Preheat oven to 350°F . Place frozen hanky pankies on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake for 10 minutes or until browned and bubbly. These are always a hit for a large crowd and nice to keep on hand. Makes 44 appetizers.
